Program Overview
This Web cast is a presentation of an important symposium presented at the 2007 11th World Congress on Cancers of the Skin in Amsterdam. World renowned melanoma experts review currently available therapies for metastatic melanoma as well as a large number of emerging immunotherapies and targeted agents being evaluated in clinical trials.

Target Audience
This educational activity is intended for dermatologists,
surgical oncologists, medical oncologists and other
practitioners involved in the management and treatment
of melanoma.

Educational Objectives
After viewing the Web cast, the participant will be able to:

  • Discuss the role of chemotherapy and biochemotherapy in the treatment of advanced melanoma.
  • Identify the indications for the utilization of the novel anti-CTLA4 agents under investigation for the management of metastatic melanoma.
  • Summarize and review the safety and efficacy of anti-CTLA4 antibody therapy in advanced melanoma.
  • Discuss the emerging role for peptide vaccine therapy in advanced melanoma.
  • Describe ongoing clinical trials investigating the role of vaccines and cytokines in the adjuvant setting.
  • Discuss the evolving role for targeted therapies for advanced melanoma.
  • Describe and discuss the potential for optimal integration of these novel strategies into the current algorithm of melanoma care.
