This educational activity is specifically designed for medical oncologists, dermatologists, researchers, and other physicians, physicians-in-training, and healthcare professionals interested in and/or involved in the care of patients with melanoma and its consequences.
This online activity is the video representation of a symposium from the annual US Melanoma meeting in October of this year, titled “The Evolving Role of CTLA4 in Melanoma.” This very exciting antibody is the focus of the entire program and several internationally known experts involved in research and treatment present it’s mechanism of action, issues related to autoimmunity, and antitumor activity induced by these new agents. This Webcast is designed to be a reliable resource for clinicians who manage the therapy of people who are diagnosed with melanoma.
After completing this activity, the participant will be able to:
- Identify the mechanism of CTLA-4 function as it relates to T cell activation and immunotolerance
- Review issues concerning immune-related adverse events associated with the administrations of CTLA-4 antibodies, including autoimmunity
- Recognize the antitumor activity induced by agents mediating CTLA-4 blockade
